I’m a beginner too just like you, but i think I’m not getting very bad traffic .
See here my top 5 traffic sources . It is the record of last 30 days according google analytics .My best day was with 471 visitor and may be 450+ wa
s unique . See this 2nd image . In last 30 days overall i have got 2,444 visitor in my site .But you see Stumbleupon is my top Source . And i think after using that my traffic has started to eat my hosting bandwidth and at a time making me happy because my alexa rank is Decreasing Although i didn’t try digg yet , but i think i will start very soon .
By the way , If you don’t have account on these site please create and check yourself . And I’m coming soon with lots of tips about these sources , just let me shoot my university task .

Regarding stumbleupon.. I don’t think it is a good source of traffic. Yes it gives traffic but the visitor are not staying long in a certain website. But if you have a really good content the visitor will definitely love to browse more your website.
Well, great post friend, this will probably help beginners to know where to get traffic.
For me, google is the best traffic source.

My friend i think stumbleupon give lots of quality visitor . If tell me they stay for short time, Then i will say yes you are right but lets see. you get lots of direct visitor to your site !! did you think how ?? I think they are stumbleupon visitor because when they visit first time just bookmark your page and visit later with long time

@Hussein good post is all that matters. Stumble upon users are just surfers and looking for something that might interest them. It is not a bad idea to promote on stumble upon who knows you might be a big blogger some day, it is than these extra back links will help.
